Young Thug appears to be preparing new music, nearly two years after releasing Business Is Business in 2023. That project arrived while the Atlanta rapper was incarcerated during his trial on racketeering charges. Since then, Thug has been released and recently announced several performances both overseas and in the U.S. Until now, there had been no clear indication of when fans would hear new material from him.
This week, fans traveling toward Coachella noticed a billboard along a California freeway that may mark the start of a new rollout. The billboard features a black background with red text that reads, “UNIVERSE HAS BEEN TOO QUIET. UNTIL NOW. UY SCUTI.” In the corner, it includes a partial release date pointing to May 2025. It remains uncertain whether UY SCUTI is the name of an upcoming album or a single, but the messaging has led to speculation about a formal release next month.
Since Business Is Business, Young Thug has only appeared on a few songs, most of which were likely recorded before his arrest in May 2022. His first confirmed new verse following his release came in January 2025, when he featured on Lil Baby’s song “Dum Dumb & Dumber” alongside Future on the album WHAM.
