YENA Explores Loyalty, Deception & Consequence in “THE COST OF US | Divine Threads | Concept 5”.

Creative director YENA has unveiled the fifth installment of the Divine Threads series with a new conceptual shoot titled THE COST OF US. Drawing from the biblical passage Acts 5:1–11, the work reinterprets the story of Ananias and Sapphira—a couple whose mutual deception ends in shared downfall.

The visuals depict a man and a woman dressed in black, connected under a red veil. The color choices and staging are symbolic, with the veil and blindfolds serving as central metaphors for a devotion that distorts clarity. According to YENA, the project examines how loyalty—when detached from truth—can become dangerous.

“Devotion can be dangerous when it blinds you to the truth,” YENA wrote in the project’s caption. “This isn’t just about betrayal. It’s about the cost of shared deception—and for them, their lives were the cost.”

Referencing Acts 5, YENA’s interpretation focuses less on punishment and more on the consequences of appearances, secrecy, and alignment in falsehood. The red veil symbolizes a covering of illusion, while the blindfolds represent the intentional refusal to confront reality.

The creative team behind the shoot includes photographer Tobi, stylist Maye Star, and muses Davidtoure and YENA herself. The collaborative work continues YENA’s visual series Divine Threads, which merges fashion, theology, and storytelling through styled imagery and thematic direction.
