Jeezy is an Atlanta rap legend who has built a career out of giving “thug motivation” through his groundbreaking trap anthems. Now, he is sharing his unique brand of street knowledge through a different platform: his first book.

Adversity For Sale: Ya Gotta Believe, which was announced on Tuesday (June 13), sees Jeezy imparting life lessons meant to help readers succeed, handle setbacks, and avoid some of the mistakes he’s made throughout his own journey to money and fame.

Jeezy posted on Instagram, “This is for all my day ones and everyone that’s been down with me since the beginning.” The best story ever told is this one. I use elements of my life story, including each step, setback, and up and down I experienced to get to this point in my life, in this inspirational memoir to inspire hustlers, businesspeople, and believers.

He teamed up once again with the leader of Gangsta Grillz, DJ Drama, to produce Snofall last October. This album is heavy and hard-hitting, and it features performances from Lil Durk, EST Gee, and 42 Dugg.

HipHopDX gave the album a score of four out of five, praising writer Riley Wallace’s assessment that it was “a grand return to form, where Jeezy sounds refreshed and hungry.”

In April, the ATL veteran collaborated with Kodak Black on the remix of Boosie Badazz’s “Rocketman,” a song dedicated to the late TakeOff. This was another example of how he blended the contemporary with the sentimental.

“I see my n-gga layin’ stiff and I ain’t shed a tear/ Done lost 12 of my partners in a half a year/ The other day, I lost my n-gga, plus my auntie sick/ Them n-ggas killed my n-gga, robbed him for a half a brick,” Jeezy rapped on the somber tune.
