Wise Music Group has announced the acquisition of Austria-based classical music publisher Doblinger Musikverlag. The deal includes Doblinger’s extensive catalog of classical works, furthering Wise Music’s focus on music publishing.
Operations will remain in Vienna to maintain continuity for composers and customers while creating international opportunities. This move follows Wise’s 2022 controlling stake acquisition in Edition Peters Group, one of the world’s oldest music publishers.
Chris Butler of Wise Music stated, “This acquisition reaffirms our commitment to promoting the best of classical and modern music globally.” Doblinger’s Managing Director, Peter Pany, hailed the partnership as an opportunity to bring their composers’ works to broader audiences.
Wise Music, which holds over half a million copyrights, aims to strengthen its presence in classical and contemporary music publishing worldwide.
