Westside Gunn Teases New Album Still Praying Amidst A Surge Of Upcoming Projects.

Westside Gunn is showing no signs of slowing down, announcing that he has a new album titled Still Praying on the way. The Griselda rapper shared the news on Instagram on Wednesday (September 4), posting what seems to be the album’s cover art—featuring a photo of the late wrestler Sidney “Sid Vicious” Eudy. He captioned the image with: “STILL PRAYING COMING SOON [goat emoji, scorpion emoji, scales emoji] @griseldarecords,” clarifying in the comments that it’s an album and not just a single. Gunn amplified the excitement by describing it as “a FUCKIN ART PIECE.” Further details, including a release date, are yet to be revealed.

Still Praying appears to continue the themes from previous albums Pray For Paris and And Then You Pray For Me. It’s one of several projects Gunn has hinted at, including the long-awaited Michelle Records and Flygod Is An Awesome God III (Trilogy), which he announced last month. The Buffalo, New York rapper initially made the announcement on Instagram after a brief hiatus following the death of his close friend Infinite, a.k.a. Big Dump, whom he considered a brother.

“ALOOOOOT of ppl been hitting me in my Dms just making sure I’m good, am I ok mentally/physically bc I haven’t been on the scene like that so I’m just posting this to let y’all know I’m still SUPER FLYGOD everyday!!!!!” he wrote. He assured fans that he’s still actively working on new music and projects, saying: “I’ve been designing some incredible pieces and Yes I’m done with my new Album, physically as u can see I’m looking better than ever, mentally I think I’m focused more than I’ve ever been.”

Later, he revealed the album’s title: Flygod Is An Awesome God III (Trilogy), adding: “This ALBUM IS KRAAAAAZY!!!! I had to Bring the Mask back out bc this shit toooo RAW & DUSTY.” It’s possible Still Praying could be released ahead of Flygod Is An Awesome God III, as Gunn recently mentioned he plans to drop a project he completed in just 24 hours.

This flurry of releases is a stark contrast to his previous statement, where he declared that And Then You Pray For Me would be his final studio album. “This is going to be the last album where I take the time to say ‘this is an album,’” he told Rolling Stone. He left open the possibility of EPs but implied he was done with the traditional album format.
