Warner Chappell Music UK Partners With Defected Records To Expand Global Reach Of House Music.

Warner Chappell Music UK has entered a strategic partnership with Defected Records, a prominent British dance label. Through this collaboration, Warner Chappell will exclusively manage the publishing catalog and roster of Defected Music, the publishing arm of Defected Records.

Founded in 1999, Defected Records is known for its focus on electronic music and has collaborated with artists like Bob Sinclar, Kings of Tomorrow, Masters At Work, and Dennis Ferrer. Recently, Defected Music has seen notable success with contributions to Beyoncé’s Renaissance album, the Elton John and Dua Lipa hit Cold Heart (PNAU Remix), and tracks by Purple Disco Machine and John Summit.

This partnership will give Defected Records access to Warner Chappell Music’s global resources, helping the label grow its audience. Wez Saunders, CEO of Defected, stated the collaboration will support their mission to elevate house music worldwide and help artists build sustainable careers.

Defected’s Director of Business Affairs, Shamus Damani, expressed enthusiasm for working with Warner Chappell, praising their understanding of Defected’s values. Amber Davis, SVP and Head of A&R at Warner Chappell Music UK, said it was an honor to partner with the iconic label, emphasizing her long admiration for Defected’s genre-defining catalog. Sam Lowe, A&R Consultant at Warner Chappell, added that they are excited to help Defected advance its vision within the UK dance scene.

This deal follows Defected’s previous partnerships with The Circuit Group to expand in North America and the UK, as well as its collaboration with Reactional Music to integrate dance music into video games, and with LabelRadar to enhance demo submissions from new talent.
