Vybz Kartel to Perform First U.S. Show in Over 20 Years.

Vybz Kartel is set to perform at Brooklyn’s Barclays Center on April 11, marking his first U.S. concert in more than two decades. This follows the reinstatement of his U.S. and U.K. visas at the end of January. The performance is expected to draw significant attention, as Kartel remains one of the most influential figures in dancehall music.

Kartel shared his thoughts on returning to the U.S. stage, stating that the opportunity to perform for his fans again is something he deeply appreciates. He acknowledged the long wait and expressed excitement about reconnecting with his audience in New York.

Reggae Fest, the event’s presenter, considers the concert an important moment for dancehall music. CJ Milan, the CEO and founder of Reggae Fest, highlighted the significance of Kartel’s return and the choice of Barclays Center as the venue. He emphasized that dancehall continues to grow in popularity and deserves more recognition on major platforms.

Kartel’s return to the U.S. stage follows his attendance at the GRAMMY Awards in February, where he was nominated for Best New Reggae Album. This marked his first time on U.S. soil in over 20 years. He also performed at the MOBO Awards in England and is scheduled to appear at London’s Wireless Festival later this year.

Tickets for the Barclays Center show will be available for presale starting March 4, with general sales beginning on March 6.
