Vultures 1, The Collaborative Album By Kanye West And Ty Dolla $Ign, Makes Its Debut At The Top Spot On The Billboard 200 Chart.

Ty Dolla $ign and Ye collaborate on the album “Vultures 1,” which debuts at the top of the Billboard 200 chart, marking Ye’s 11th No. 1 album and Ty’s first. The album amassed 148,000 equivalent album units in its first week, primarily through streaming. Usher also achieves success with his latest album “Coming Home,” which debuts at No. 2 on the Billboard 200, marking his highest-charting album in over a decade with 91,000 units earned.

The Billboard 200 chart ranks the most popular albums in the US based on various metrics including sales, track equivalent albums (TEA), and streaming equivalent albums (SEA). The chart for February 24, 2024, was delayed by one day due to the Presidents’ Day holiday. “Vultures 1” received significant streaming numbers in its debut week, with 129,000 SEA units. The album features collaborations with Travis Scott, Playboi Carti, Chris Brown, and even Ye’s daughter, North.

Despite initial distribution challenges, “Vultures 1” managed to secure a new distributor after its original distributor took it down. However, one of the tracks, “Good (Don’t Die),” was removed from streaming platforms due to alleged copyright infringement. Despite this, the album still achieved significant success, tying Ye with Bruce Springsteen and Barbra Streisand for the 11th No. 1 album of his career.

For Ty Dolla $ign, “Vultures 1” represents his first No. 1 album and his second top 10 entry on the Billboard 200. Usher’s “Coming Home,” on the other hand, marks his ninth top 10-charting album and his highest-ranking album since 2012’s “Looking 4 Myself.” The album was released independently through Usher’s own label after years with major labels like BMG and Sony.

Usher’s album release coincided with his performance at the 2024 Super Bowl halftime show, although he didn’t perform any songs from “Coming Home” during the show. The album’s lead single “Good Good” featuring Summer Walker and 21 Savage peaked at No. 25 on the Billboard Hot 100, marking Usher’s return to the charts after several years.

Elsewhere on the Billboard 200, Noah Kahan’s “Stick Season” climbs to No. 3 with the release of its deluxe edition, while the rest of the top 10 comprises former No. 1 albums by artists like Morgan Wallen, SZA, and Taylor Swift.
