Usher will be celebrating the silver anniversary of My Way with a special re-release. The album was his breakout sophomore album after his 1994 self-titled debut album, which — despite being executive produced by Sean “Puffy” Combs (who was in the process of leading his Bad Boy Records to mega-success at the time) — was largely overlooked.
The three redesigned songs, “My Way,” “Nice & Slow,” and “You Make Me Wanna,” as well as instrumental versions of said tunes, will be included with a remastered edition of the original album. These songs were inspired by Usher’s fantastic NPR Tiny Desk Concert in June 2022. Early in 2023, Vinyl Me Please will also release My Way on a 2LP 180g Silver Cloudy Vinyl. Along with a lyric and photo booklet, the package includes new album art that pays respect to the original cover from 1997.
Additionally, Usher will release a short documentary in which he and the album’s executive producer Jermaine Dupri discuss the album’s conception and eventual success. On Friday, September 16, the re-release and mini-doc will both be available.
