Travis Scott’s Coachella Set Cost Organizers $20,000 For Missing Curfew By Three Minutes.

Travis Scott performed at Coachella on April 12 and went three minutes past the 1 a.m. city-imposed curfew, which led to a $20,000 fine for the festival organizers, Goldenvoice. According to Billboard, the festival’s agreement with the City of Indio includes a $20,000 penalty if the event exceeds the curfew by up to five minutes. TMZ noted that Scott’s set started late due to Green Day’s performance running 15 minutes over schedule.

Compared to previous years, the fine was relatively small. In 2023, Coachella was fined $117,000 for curfew violations during the first weekend. Last year, Lana Del Rey ran 13 minutes late and triggered a $28,000 penalty. The same year, Frank Ocean dropped out of the second weekend, causing Goldenvoice a much larger financial setback.

Meanwhile, Goldenvoice recently concluded the Stagecoach festival. Writer Philip Cosores observed that Stagecoach has increasingly focused on mass appeal over curating traditional country music, stating that while the strategy resonates with fans, it may limit the festival’s role in supporting the genre’s growth.
