Travis Scott has elevated his Utopia experience by creating a special edition magazine to go along with the new venture.
After months of teasing, Scott finally released Utopia on Friday (July 28). Drake, Beyoncé, The Weeknd, Future, Playboi Carti, 21 Savage, SZA, Kid Cudi, and many more made appearances on the album. Scott has now released a new zine to depict the concepts of the music, along with the concomitant Circus Maximus movie to help market the production.
The zine was described as a “virtual essay” created by “various artists,” and Scott went into further detail about how it was put together on Instagram.
In his blog post, Scott said, “Took some photos and had some of my friends document different things through the journey of going through walls making this album and film I made zine to share with you guys u can see a lot more of them on my website.”
Utopia is expected to collect at least 350 million streams in its first seven days, which translates to between 245,000 to 275,000 SEA (streaming equivalent albums) units, and is on track to have a big debut week, according to HITS Daily Double.
That number, however, excludes pure record sales, which according to industry insiders, may exceed 200,000. On his website, Scott has been selling physical copies of Utopia along with numerous gear and zine bundles and offering fans a choice of five distinct album covers.
