Travis Scott has set multiple records in Japan with his “Tokyo Takeover,” marking a significant moment in his global touring run.
Scott delivered his largest headlining performance to date on Nov. 8 at the Belluna Dome in Tokorozawa, Japan. The show was supported by a multi-day activation in Tokyo, which included exclusive merchandise, collaborations, and a Cactus Jack pop-up experience. Together, these efforts led to record-setting ticket and merchandise sales.
According to a press release, Scott’s stadium show became the highest-grossing performance by a hip-hop artist in Tokyo’s history. His Belluna Dome Collection also set a new benchmark for merchandise sales at any concert in the city.
From Nov. 7 to Nov. 9, the Cactus Jack pop-up in Shibuya drew large crowds and featured special items created with Takashi Murakami and Fragment’s Hiroshi Fujiwara. These collaborations added local cultural elements to Scott’s rollout and aligned the event with Tokyo’s fashion and art environment.
During the Belluna Dome performance, Scott surprised the audience by bringing out Kanye West. West removed a mask mid-show and began performing “Can’t Tell Me Nothing,” starting a series of collaborative moments. Fan videos show the two performing several songs together, including “Runaway,” “Heartless,” “Flashing Lights,” “Stronger,” and “All of the Lights.”
In a separate update, Scott addressed his history with the Grammys. After the announcement of the 2026 Grammy nominations, which did not include a win for him, Scott responded to a post listing artists who have never taken home the award. On X, he wrote that he expects this to eventually change, adding: “This will change for me one day. Just wait.”
