A year ago, when the Nike Calm Slide first appeared, it drew immediate comparisons to the adidas YEEZY Slide. The resemblance is evident in the one-piece construction and the consistent use of monochromatic color schemes in both models. Considering the success of the YEEZY Slide during its time in the market, it was expected that Nike would develop its version to compete. The departure of Kanye West (“Ye”) from adidas has left the YEEZY Slide unavailable in the market, except for secondhand sources, creating an opportunity for the Calm Slide to thrive.
Taking advantage of this situation, Nike has gone a step further by introducing its versions inspired by the YEEZY “MX” series colorways. These new Calm Slide presentations feature a unique blend pattern. In the first design, gray and black swirl across the strap and footbed, supported by a black outsole. The second pair adopts a similar pattern, incorporating various red hues for a dynamic finish, complemented by a red outsole.
As of the current writing, Nike has not revealed specific release details for these patterned Calm Slide colorways. However, it is anticipated that they will be launched in the coming months through Nike and select retailers, priced at $50 USD. Stay tuned for further updates on the release.
