The Game Announces First Gangsta Grillz Mixtape After 48-Hour Recording Sprint

The Game shared major news during a visit to The Cruz Show on Real 92.3 L.A., confirming that his first-ever Gangsta Grillz mixtape with DJ Drama will arrive on Friday, November 28. The Compton artist explained that the entire project was written, recorded, and assembled in only two days. In a clip posted by the show’s Instagram page, he described the process and what fans can expect.

He said he completed the mixtape “from scratch” in 48 hours, eventually narrowing down 19 tracks from an estimated 60 recorded over the weekend. According to The Game, the fast-paced approach didn’t change his commitment to delivering lyrics with his usual style. He referred to the project as “major” and emphasized that he simply focused on being himself creatively.

The mixtape is described as a collaboration with Mike N Keys, a production team known for sharp, energetic beats. Fans have expressed excitement about the sudden release, noting that The Game’s ability to rap over punchy instrumentals has been one of his strengths throughout his career. Though the quick turnaround may raise questions about quality control, listeners are hopeful that the selection process allowed the strongest material to make the final cut.

In recent years, The Game has released music primarily through collaborations, with fewer solo drops after his diss track directed at Rick Ross last year. This new project arrives at a time when fans have been calling for a fuller release, making the surprise announcement timely as the year comes to a close. He has also remained active in hip-hop conversations, offering his ranking of the best L.A. rappers. He placed himself at number five on his list, with Kendrick Lamar, Ice Cube, Snoop Dogg, and Tupac Shakur ahead of him. His expanded list also included Kurupt, DJ Quik, Dr. Dre, Eazy-E, and Xzibit.

With 2025 wrapping up, The Game’s upcoming Gangsta Grillz mixtape marks a significant release to close out the year. Fans will soon hear how the collaboration with DJ Drama and Mike N Keys came together during the condensed creative period.
