The Fuse Is Lit: Busta Rhymes Announces New Project

Later this month, Busta Rhymes will return to the music scene with a brand-new project.

The Brooklyn native announced a new EP called The Fuse is Lit on Instagram on Monday (November 7) and said it would be released on Friday (November 11).

Busta revealed the EP’s cover image in his post, which appropriately shows a hand lighting a stick of dynamite with a match.

The seasoned MC also revealed the five-track project’s tracklist, which includes cameos from Jamaican dancehall superstar Skillibeng as well as fellow New Yorkers Conway The Machine, Big Daddy Kane, and Capella Grey.

Busta’s most recent musical endeavor features production work by Swizz Beatz, Marley Marl, Focus, and other artists.

“Fuck it I couldn’t wait!!! BRAND NEW @bustarhymes ‘THE FUSE IS LIT’ EP DROPPIN’ 11.11.22 THE [dragon] RETURNS #THEFUSEISLIT,” Busta captioned his post.

Hip-hop lovers are in for a treat on November 11 as Nas and Hit-recently Boy’s announced King’s Disease III will be released on the same day as The Fuse is Lit. But Busta Rhymes had a head start because he had already dropped the song “Slap” with Conway The Machine and Big Daddy Kane.

The trio was seen getting off their bars while enjoying a chic night on the town in the song’s accompanying official music video, which was released last month.

The Fuse is Lit, Busta’s 10th album will be released in October 2020 as a follow-up to Extinction Level Event 2: The Wrath of God. After moving 38,000 first-week units, it debuted on the Billboard 200 at No. 7.

The eagerly anticipated album, Busta’s first in eight years, featured guest appearances from Mariah Carey, Kendrick Lamar, Rick Ross, Q-Tip, and Anderson.

Paak and Rakim, as well as a verse from Ol’ Dirty Bastard who has passed away.

At the Miami Beach, Florida 2022 BMI R&B/Hip Hop Awards in September, Busta Rhymes received the BMI Icon Award. Pharrell, a longtime friend, and collaborator of Busta gave him the honor while paying tribute to the frontman of the Flipmode Squad.
