Teddy Riley Launches Guy 2.0 With New Lineup

Teddy Riley is reviving his influential R&B group Guy, now rebranded as Guy 2.0, featuring Fred “Ljai” Robinson, J Stylz, and Ray Lavender. Original members Aaron and Damion Hall are not part of the new lineup.

Riley announced the project on social media, teasing live performances as part of the Teddy Riley Xperience. The move follows his previous refresh of Blackstreet with BS2.

Guy originally formed in 1987 and shaped late-’80s and early-’90s R&B with hits like “Teddy’s Jam” and “Let’s Chill,” helping pioneer the new jack swing sound. Their last studio album, Guy III, was released in 2000.

It remains unclear whether Guy 2.0 will release new music or focus on live shows.
