Top Dawg Entertainment (TDE) is preparing for its 11th annual Christmas concert and toy drive, set to take place in Watts, Los Angeles, on December 12 and 13 at Nickerson Gardens. The two-day event will feature performances from TDE artists including SZA, ScHoolboy Q, Jay Rock, Doechii, Ab-Soul, Isaiah Rashad, SiR, Ray Vaughn, Zacari, and Kal Banx, along with unannounced special guests. Past surprise performers have included Kendrick Lamar, Rihanna, Big Sean, Chris Brown, and A$AP Ferg.
On December 12, attendees can enter the concert by donating unwrapped toys, new clothes, shoes, and other charitable items. The following day will feature a community giveback event, including youth sports activities, a raffle, barbering services, and more. Additionally, a jobs fair will provide opportunities for those seeking employment, with organizations offering reentry pathways for ex-offenders.
The annual event aims to give back to the residents of Nickerson Gardens, a public housing project where TDE founder Anthony “Top Dawg” Tiffith and Jay Rock grew up. Since its inception, TDE has prioritized supporting marginalized communities in Los Angeles. This year, the label is also celebrating its 20th anniversary. Despite the departure of Kendrick Lamar in 2022, TDE remains active with successful projects, including SZA’s SOS, Doechii’s Alligator Bites Never Heal, and ScHoolboy Q’s Blue Lips. New albums from Isaiah Rashad and Jay Rock have been teased, along with a potential compilation project celebrating TDE’s two decades of success.
