Taylor Made Freestyle: Drake’s AI-Infused Response to Kendrick Lamar.

The rift between Drake and a significant fraction of the hip-hop community continues to deepen. On Friday night, Drake shared a track on his social media titled “Taylor Made Freestyle,” featuring AI-generated vocals from Tupac Shakur and Snoop Dogg, bridging the gap between diss tracks while awaiting Kendrick Lamar’s response to his latest release, “Push Ups.”

In this track, a simulated Shakur addresses Lamar’s silence since his verse on “Like That,” the diss track that initiated this feud last month. Drake uses Snoop Dogg’s computerized vocals to convey a message directly to Lamar, expressing frustration at Lamar’s apparent lack of action.

Speculation arose that Drake may have rapped the verses attributed to Shakur and Snoop Dogg, utilizing AI to alter their voices. However, Drake himself delivers a verse at the end, clarifying that the song serves as a placeholder until Lamar responds. He hints at Lamar’s delayed reaction, suggesting it may be due to the attention surrounding Taylor Swift’s new album.

This feud began when Lamar took offense to being mentioned in J. Cole’s “the big three” alongside Drake on the track “First Person Shooter.” Since then, it’s been a flurry of diss tracks in the upper echelons of hip-hop, with J. Cole also responding to Lamar on “7 Minute Drill” before retracting the song from streaming platforms.

Drake’s retaliation, “Push Ups,” was initially leaked as an unfinished demo but was swiftly followed by an official studio release on streaming services.
