T-Pain has addressed criticism of his collaboration with Mark Zuckerberg on a remix of Lil Jon’s “Get Low,” created as a heartfelt anniversary gift for Zuckerberg’s wife, Priscilla Chan. The track holds sentimental value for the couple, as it was playing when they first met at a college party.
In an Instagram video on November 14, T-Pain dismissed the backlash, saying, “It is impossible for some people to have fun. I’ve learned how to not worry about what y’all are talking about.” He expressed frustration with those criticizing wholesome gestures, adding, “Why y’all hate happiness so much? Y’all don’t like when people do stuff for their wives.”
The remix transformed the crunk anthem, which reached No. 2 on the Billboard Hot 100 in 2003, into an acoustic ballad. Zuckerberg, sharing the song on Instagram, explained its significance: “Every year we listen to it on our dating anniversary. This year I worked with @tpain on our own version of this lyrical masterpiece.”
The collaboration, dubbed Z-Pain, highlights the duo’s ongoing camaraderie, which began with a livestream together in 2021. Earlier this year, T-Pain gifted Zuckerberg a custom Nappy Boy Meta chain. Despite online criticism, T-Pain remains unapologetic, encouraging fans to listen to the new remix, which is now available on Spotify.
