SZA Thanks Kendrick Lamar Onstage During Grand National Tour Stop.

During a recent stop on the Grand National Tour, SZA paused her performance to show appreciation for co-headliner Kendrick Lamar. Reflecting on their history, she grew emotional as she credited Lamar for one of the biggest turning points in her career.

“He put me onto the biggest moment of my life,” she told fans during the show. “This is also the biggest moment of my life… I’m so thankful, and I’m so thankful to y’all.”

Clips from the moment have gone viral across social media. Fans praised the duo’s bond, with one X (formerly Twitter) user writing, “Omg their brother sister bond is so dope.” Another added, “Brother & sister. I am going to cry.”

SZA and Kendrick’s connection has spanned years of collaborations, including their recent track “luther.” Lamar also brought her out as a surprise guest during his Super Bowl LIX Halftime Show performance earlier this year.

Before the tour began, SZA shared in Interview Magazine that she was initially nervous about sharing a stage with Lamar. Known for dealing with anxiety and stage panic, she worried fans might only show up for Lamar. “Now it’s just like, ‘F*ck it. I don’t have anything else to do, and I want to see where this door is going to lead,’” she said.

The Grand National Tour continues through August 9, wrapping in Stockholm, Sweden. Afterward, Kendrick Lamar is scheduled to head to Australia for solo performances in Melbourne and Sydney.
