Sza Reveals Sophomore Album Title, S.O.S, Release Details To Billboard

SZA spoke in-depth with Billboard ahead of her appearance on Saturday Night Live as the musical guest on December 3.

She revealed the official name of her long-awaited major label sophomore album, S.O.S., with a projected release date of “sometime in December 2022,” though the report states that SZA admits she’s “currently stressed” about meeting it. It is “the most captivating music she has ever made,” according to Billboard, with “her beloved lo-fi beats sharing space with surf rock within the same track, a grunge record and an acoustic guitar-driven ballad coexisting without either sounding out of place.”

“I only do what I want to do,” SZA said in reference to the releases of her singles “I Hate U” (which she first released via an arbitrary Soundcloud drop), “Good Days” (which came with a four-day heads-up to TDE), and “Shirt” (which was teased for approximately two years), as well as the brief “PSA” video.

“I know that I am that girl where I will figure it out,” she says in a confident tone. The same as before I was a creative person.
