Despite Billboard 200 Dominance Ending, SZA Celebrates "SOS" Going Platinum

SZA has posted a heartfelt message to celebrate her historic run on the Billboard 200, which includes two new achievements achieved in the seventh week following the release of SOS.

The Top Dawg Entertainment singer celebrated topping the Billboard album chart for a seventh week in a row by posting on Instagram on Thursday, February 2. SZA revealed that she’s broken two records with her sophomore release and provided a few behind-the-scenes pictures from an upcoming video or photo shoot.

SZA has joined Adele and Taylor Swift as the third female artists to have an album stay at least seven weeks at the top of the Billboard 200, according to two screenshots of tweets by Chart Data. Additionally, SOS has made history by becoming the first album to have 10 tracks stay on the Hot 100 singles list for seven weeks in a row.

“7 weeks at #1 is more than I ever imagined [emotional smiley face emoji],” she captioned the post. “I’m jus tryna do something worth something w my time in the sun . Thank you God . Thank you everyone [white heart emoji, S.O.S. emoji]”
