Egypt, the son of Swizz Beatz and Alicia Keys, is already a musical force to be reckoned with at the age of twelve, directly following in both of his parents’ creative footstep.
On Tuesday (July 11), the celebrated producer displayed Egypt’s extraordinary piano prowess on Instagram.
Swizzy added, “This boy is turning into something else,” along with a plethora of emojis for aesthetic purposes. Keys, EG! Add a song to it and use the hashtag #EGKEYS.
Egypt’s creativity is nothing new; at the age of five, he was reportedly acknowledged as a producer (together with his father) on Kendrick Lamar’s “untitled 07.” off of his untitled unmastered album.
Swizz Beatz said that Egypt also assisted Kendrick in overcoming a mental obstacle to rhyming in an interview with Jennifer Hudson in April.
I’m really envious of that one. I thought Kendrick and I were cool,” he said in jest. “But they kicked it at the Super Bowl game, and when I looked, he and Kendrick were chatting for about 40 minutes,” the observer said.
“I approached Kendrick and asked, “Is he troubling you? Do I need to move him? I can tell you’re having fun. He said, “No. Swizz, what Egypt is saying me is helping me deal with something. I had writer’s block.
“I thought, ‘Well man, he’s five.’ I have no idea what he was assisting him with, but I still allowed it to happen.
“He definitely charged him,” he continued. Egypt profited financially from that recording.
Swizz also discussed the development of Egyptian music and clarified how he and his wife don’t push their children to follow interests they don’t share. It’s lovely, he said. “The one thing we never do is put pressure on them. You know, we don’t force music or the arts. We impose our good intentions.
“As long as your actions are motivated by good intentions, we’ll support them. The situation is not mandatory, though. We must allow children be themselves while guiding them in the proper direction without placing undue pressure on them.
Egypt was generously compensated, according to the Ruff Ryders tale, for accompanying Alicia on piano on her tour last summer.
It’s insane, he declared. “He charged her, though, I’ll give you that. You’re going to charge mum, I said. ‘No, no, no, no, I’m not charging mum, but the network received the money,’ he retorted.
“I responded, ‘Okay, I understand.’ He billed the network, in my opinion, $500 and a PC or something similar. He cares about it.
