Swizz Beatz Admits Lil Wayne Disliked The Modifications He Made To The "Uproar" Collaboration

According to Swizz Beatz, Lil Wayne didn’t like the alterations he made to their popular joint effort “Uproar.”

The renowned Ruff Ryders producer discussed Wayne’s unfavorable response to him changing his vocals on the song, which was released in 2018, while appearing on DJ Whoo Kid’s Hot Boxin’ podcast with Mike Tyson.

“This was the last record,” he said. “I kind of messed with his vocals. He didn’t like that and then I talked to Mack [Maine, Young Money president]. I said, ‘This gotta be more than just a freestyle because he rapped all the way through.’ There wasn’t no break points.”

Swizz Beatz described how he rearranged a lyric from Wayne into the chorus of “Uproar.” Weezy was first against it, but later changed his mind and gave the thumbs up.

Swizz made a wise choice because “Uproar” achieved double platinum certification from the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA), marking two million domestic sales, and peaked at No. 7 on the Billboard Hot 100.
