A new song by up-and-coming performer Berhana, “Sundays,” which he co-wrote and co-produced alongside Baird and Goldwash, has been released.
In less than two minutes, Berhana pushes his sound to uncharted territory while delivering a deft wordplay on the subject of evolving into a calm romantic over a complex composition.
Will Azcona directed the visualizer that is included with “Sundays.” It shows Berhana seated beneath a spreading tree under a foreboding purple night sky.
Since July 2021, when he released “Nostalgia,” Berhana had not released a new song before his most recent one.
He sang it in Amharic, which is a language with roots in his Ethiopian origin. “An interpretation of a song that provided me solace during a sad moment,” he said of the tune.
“Sundays,” according to Berhana, won’t be on his future album, but he still feels that it “feels like a linking element.”
The following album by Berhana doesn’t yet have a name. It’ll be the follow-up to his album Han from 2019. The previously released songs “Health Food” and “Lucky Strike” were on his debut album.
“It’s crucial to focus on the minor aspects while writing a lengthy essay that you want to be cohesive and have a consistent vibe. That’s what will distinguish it as unique. Making ensuring all the details were included with this was my main worry, Berhana told DJBooth.
Berhana launched a different rendition of “Golden,” which was displayed on Han, in November 2020. The revised version includes Mereba. On Spotify, the song has had over 7 million streams.
