Spotify Returns as Sponsor for Contemporary Black Music Category at 2025 Music Business UK Awards

The Music Business UK Awards are just over a week away, and Spotify has been confirmed as the returning sponsor for the Contemporary Black Music category. The ceremony, presented by Music Business Worldwide and sponsored by YouTube, will take place on November 4 at the De Vere Grand Connaught Rooms in London.

Last year’s winner, Preye Crooks of Robots + Humans, is once again among the nominees, joining a lineup of A&R talent representing key figures in contemporary Black music across the UK industry.

Andy Sloan-Vincent, Spotify’s Head of Music for Northern Europe, said the company is proud to continue spotlighting Black creativity and leadership. “At Spotify, we work every day to champion Black voices on our platform,” he said. “It’s a privilege to celebrate the creators and executives who shape culture from behind the scenes. The Music Business UK Awards shine a light on those trailblazers driving contemporary Black music forward, inspiring the next generation of leaders.”

In addition to the Contemporary Black Music category, the evening will include awards for songwriting, production, artist management, publishing, and A&R. Special honors such as the Icon Award and the Sir George Martin Award, which will be presented to RCA Records CEO Peter Edge, will also be featured during the sold-out event.
