Skiddle and Spotify have partnered to connect music streaming with live event access in the UK. Announced April 9, the collaboration allows Spotify users to find and purchase tickets for concerts, club nights, and festivals through artist profiles using Skiddle’s platform. Fans can now browse events via the ‘Events’ tab and buy tickets without leaving Spotify.
According to Skiddle’s Head of Festival and Partnerships, Duncan King, the integration provides a new marketing channel for promoters. It links Skiddle’s ticketing tools to Spotify’s active music listeners. Spotify’s Head of BD and Live Music, Jon Ostrow, emphasized that the goal is to ensure no fan misses a concert due to lack of information. Their new “Concerts Near You” playlist supports that aim.
Promoters can access this feature by listing events through Skiddle’s Promotion Center. Skiddle is already integrated with Songkick and Bandsintown, and it plans to expand further. The partnership reflects Spotify’s continued focus on concert discovery following previous launches like the ‘Live Events’ feed and past ticketing experiments.
While Spotify reduced direct ticketing efforts in 2024, it continues to work with third-party platforms. Discussions are also ongoing between Spotify and ticketing companies like Live Nation, Apple, and Amazon. A potential new Spotify tier may include early ticket access, AI tools, and improved audio.
