Sony Music Publishing Was Named ASCAP’s 2025 Pop Publisher Of The Year For The Ninth Time.

Sony Music Publishing and its songwriters were honored at ASCAP’s 2025 Pop Music Awards held on May 1 in Los Angeles. The company was named ASCAP’s Pop Publisher of the Year for the ninth time, in recognition of its contributions to the year’s top-performing pop songs. Songwriters signed to Sony Music Publishing received awards for their work on 28 songs that stood out over the past year.

Notable winning titles include “Stargazing” by Myles Smith, “Good Luck, Babe!” by Chappell Roan and Dan Nigro, and “Not Like Us” by Mustard. Additional songs recognized were “I Am Not Okay” by Ashley Gorley, “Texas Hold ’Em” by Beyoncé, Nate Ferraro, and Killah B, “Made for Me” by Jermaine Dupri, and “Stick Season” by Noah Kahan, among others.

SMP songwriters honored at the event include a broad group of artists and producers such as Beyoncé, Ashley Gorley, Dan Nigro, Chappell Roan, Killah B, Myles Smith, Mustard, Nate Ferraro, Jermaine Dupri, Noah Kahan, Olivia Rodrigo, and Usher. Other honorees include BNYX, Cheyenna, Deputy, Emmanuel Arah, Evan Blair, Jin Kirigaya, Jonah Roy, Nik D, Theron Thomas, and Tommy Richman.

Katie Welle, President and Head of A&R at Sony Music Publishing, accepted the award on behalf of the company. She acknowledged the wide range of creative talent being celebrated and expressed gratitude to both the internal SMP team and the songwriters for their continued impact on popular music.
