Sony Music India and Los Angeles-based The Hello Group (THG) have launched a joint venture called THG India. The new company aims to address gaps in talent management and live touring infrastructure for Indian artists.
The partnership combines Sony Music India’s experience in South Asia with THG’s global background in artist management and touring. Founded in 2016 by CEO Taylor Jones, THG manages acts and operates services such as Hello Management, Hello Music, and THG Publishing. Its catalog includes music by BTS, TWICE, Steve Aoki, and The Chainsmokers, with a history of organizing tours for international acts like Kang Daniel and Greyson Chance.
Sony Music India Managing Director Vinit Thakkar called THG India a strategic move to give Indian artists better access to global stages, while Jones emphasized THG’s commitment to building infrastructure for India’s music talent.
This venture follows Sony Music’s recent partnerships in India, including Tiger Baby Records and a soundtrack deal with Maddock Films. The company also launched a media talent venture (SETVI) in 2022 and extended its global publishing deals with Tips Music and Big Bang Music.
