Snoop Dogg, Rick Ross, and Soulja Boy performed at the first-ever Crypto Ball on January 17 at the Andrew W. Mellon Auditorium in Washington, D.C. The event was hosted by David Sacks, Trump’s recently appointed White House A.I. and Crypto Czar.
The party, closed to media, required tickets priced between $2,500 and $5,000. Snoop joked, “They let a real Crip up in the Crypto Ball,” during his performance. Videos of Soulja Boy and Rick Ross at the event circulated online.
Snoop’s attendance surprised fans due to his past criticism of Trump. However, his stance shifted after Trump commuted the prison sentence of Death Row Records co-founder Michael “Harry-O” Harris in 2021, a move Snoop supported through advocacy efforts.
Other artists, including Nelly, Rod Wave, and Kodak Black, are reportedly set to perform at Trump-related inaugural events.
