Snoop Dogg is heading to Italy as the first honorary coach for Team USA at the 2026 Milano Cortina Olympic Winter Games. Announced on Thursday (Dec. 11), the role marks a major moment for the legendary entertainer, who has grown increasingly connected to the Olympic movement over the past few years.
In a LinkedIn post, Snoop shared that his experience at the Paris 2024 Games inspired him to take on a deeper role. He said he immediately felt welcomed by the United States Olympic & Paralympic Committee, praising the pride and energy within the organization. As honorary coach, he plans to use his voice, enthusiasm, and support to uplift athletes and highlight the full journey behind their performances.
Snoop’s first project in the role is the Team USA x Coach Snoop capsule collection created with Fanatics. The line will be available later this month, with every dollar going directly to benefit Team USA and its athletes.
The rapper already made a mark at the Olympics in 2024 as a special correspondent for NBC, where his mix of humor, culture, and excitement resonated with viewers. He even participated as a torchbearer ahead of the Opening Ceremony. Snoop will return to NBC’s coverage for the 2026 Games, teaming up again with Mike Tirico and hosting a recurring segment called Snoop’s Greatest Hits, spotlighting top competition moments and standout athletes.
While in Italy, he plans to explore major landmarks and dive into the local culture. He joked that he’ll be bringing his puffy jackets, snow gear, goggles, skates, and plenty of ice as he prepares for winter in Milan and Cortina.
The Milano Cortina 2026 Winter Olympics begin Feb. 6 on NBC and will also stream on Peacock.
