Snoop Dogg honored his wife, Shante Broadus, with three symbolic rings at her 50th birthday celebration, marking major milestones in their more than 30-year relationship. In footage from the event, Snoop stood beside Shante and explained the meaning behind each ring before gifting them to her.
“The first ring is for when you became my girlfriend,” Snoop said, noting that she is the only girlfriend he has ever had. The two met as teenagers at Long Beach Polytechnic High School, attending dances like prom before graduating in 1989. Shante later founded Boss Lady Entertainment, a music management and production company, while Snoop launched his rap career in the early ’90s.
Snoop then explained the second ring, which commemorates their marriage. The couple wed on June 14, 1997, and have three children together: sons Cordé and Cordell and daughter Cori. He spoke about the joy of building a family, renewing vows, and creating a life rooted in commitment.

The third ring, according to Snoop, represents the enduring love he has for Shante as she enters her “fifth floor.” He encouraged her to enjoy life, embrace family, and continue growing as a wife, mother, grandmother, and leader within their family. “Grow into the person that your grandmother was,” he said, offering a sentimental tribute to her personal legacy and influence.
Last year, Snoop shared that the key to their lasting marriage is learning what your partner loves most and doing it consistently, offering simple advice that reflects the long-running bond between him and Shante.
