Sha EK Returns to the Spotlight, Talks Music, Family, and Industry Drama.

Sha EK is back, and he’s ready to make a statement. After taking some time off from the music scene to focus on himself and his family, the Bronx rapper is setting the record straight and diving into new projects. In a candid interview on Talk of the Town Show, Sha EK opens up about everything from his personal life and fatherhood to the fake side of the music industry that led him to step away.

Sha EK, whose grind in the drill music scene earned him attention, reveals that he took a hiatus to escape what he describes as “fake people” in the industry. The rapper, who’s still signed to his label and reportedly making “millions every week,” explains his desire to focus on music that’s real and authentic. While drilling into his personal experiences, he’s also been working on new material, including an upcoming project titled Fell Back in the Streets.

“I’m too honest with my music,” he admits. “But I’m the voice of the streets. The real ones feel that, you know?”

Despite his break from the scene, Sha EK remains confident about the future of drill music, even if he feels that artists shouldn’t be stuck in it forever. His message is clear: be independent and true to yourself in an industry that often rewards the fake over the real.

One of the major changes in Sha EK’s life has been fatherhood. The rapper explains how becoming a dad has calmed him down and made him more thoughtful about his actions. He reflects on his relationship with his daughter and the challenges he’s faced with his child’s mother, especially after she became involved with someone he views as an opponent.

“I provide well for my daughter,” he says, “She wouldn’t even be here if it wasn’t for me.”

Though he’s adamant about his commitment to his daughter, Sha EK makes it clear that he doesn’t want more children, explaining he doesn’t want “forever attachment to nobody.” His romantic preferences lean towards “light-skinned” women who “shut up and do what a [person] says.”

Sha EK’s social media presence has also been a point of contention. After losing his original Instagram account, he created a new one (@shyk55) but continues to deal with frustrations regarding rumors and people trying to profit off his name. He mentions being blocked from going live on social media platforms and admits he struggles with engaging with the constant stream of comments, although he still reads them.

“I try not to feed into the rumors, but it’s hard when people just want to talk about me for no reason,” Sha EK confesses.

As for his relationships within the music industry, Sha EK has had his share of ups and downs. He talks about his connections with fellow artists like CJ, and mentions the need for a “real-life conversation” with B Man. Although he has fallen out with a number of industry figures, Sha EK is selective about who he considers talented in the current music scene.

“I’ve been through a lot in this game,” he shares, “but you learn who’s real and who’s just here for the hype.”
