Sabrina Carpenter is preparing for a prominent appearance at the 2025 MTV Video Music Awards, where she will perform and has received eight nominations. She is part of the confirmed performance lineup, which also includes Alex Warren, Busta Rhymes, J Balvin with DJ Snake, Ricky Martin, and Sombr. Additional artists are expected to be announced as the event approaches. The awards show will air live on September 7 from UBS Arena in New York, broadcasting coast-to-coast at 8 p.m. ET (5 p.m. PT). LL COOL J is hosting the ceremony, marking his return after co-hosting the 2022 VMAs alongside Nicki Minaj and Jack Harlow.
Among Carpenter’s nominations, her song “Manchild” is recognized in the Video Of The Year category. Other nominees in the category are Ariana Grande with “Brighter Days Ahead,” Billie Eilish with “Birds Of A Feather,” Kendrick Lamar with “Not Like Us,” Lady Gaga and Bruno Mars with “Die With A Smile,” Rosé and Bruno Mars with “APT.,” and The Weeknd and Playboi Carti with “Timeless.”
The nominations also highlight new talent. Both Alex Warren and Sombr, who are included in the performance lineup, are nominated for Best New Artist, placing them alongside more established names in other categories.
