Rihanna expressed pride in A$AP Rocky’s expanding acting career during the 35th Annual Gotham Film Awards. She praised his performances in Spike Lee’s Highest 2 Lowest and Mary Bronstein’s If I Had Legs I’d Kick You, saying she was “amazed” by his talent.
“Oh my God, I’m so proud of him,” Rihanna told Extra on the red carpet. “Every time I see him on camera, I’m like, ‘What?’ I get amazed because I didn’t know he had it in him. But he’s such a great talent.”
For Rocky, branching into acting feels natural. “It feels amazing, I can’t lie to you. It fits me well. It suits me very well,” he said during his own interview with Extra.
Rocky earned a Breakthrough Performer nomination for his role as Yung Felon in Highest 2 Lowest. Other nominees included Chase Infiniti for One Battle After Another, with Abou Sangaré winning for Souleymane’s Story.
If I Had Legs I’d Kick You also received four Gotham Film Award nominations. In the film, Rocky plays James, a supporting yet essential character to Rose Byrne’s Linda, whose stress intensifies while caring for her sick daughter amid an absent husband.While Rocky’s next acting moves remain uncertain, fans are also looking forward to his long-teased album Don’t Be Dumb, potentially arriving in 2026.
