Rihanna and A$AP Rocky are expecting their third child together. The 37-year-old singer appeared at the Met Gala on May 5 with a visible baby bump, which she cradled on the red carpet. Although she did not speak to reporters, A$AP Rocky, who served as a co-chair of the event, briefly confirmed the news. “It is time to just show the people what we were cooking up,” he said. “I’m glad everybody’s happy for us because we’re definitely happy.”
The couple has not shared how far along Rihanna is in the pregnancy. Their growing family also brings back a lighthearted moment from 2023, when their lawyer Joe Tacopina revealed the couple had joked about naming their next baby “A$AP Joe” after Rocky was found not guilty in a shooting trial. “They grabbed me and they said, ‘Listen, our next baby is A$AP Joe,’” Tacopina recalled. “I’m gonna hold you to that,” he told them.
Rihanna has previously spoken about how watching Rocky parent has deepened her love for him. In an interview with Access Hollywood, she said, “I love him differently as a dad… What a leader, what a great, patient, loving [dad].” She added, “My kids are obsessed with him. I’m just a background, I’m an extra.”
Rocky has also praised Rihanna, telling Billboard how their relationship works despite busy schedules. “It’s crazy how we find balance,” he said. “There’s no more perfect person… It’s all understanding and compatibility.”
