Riaa Names Glorilla, Muni Long & More In Class Of 2022 Thanks To First-Time Plaques

Thanks to their accomplishments last year, GloRilla, Muni Long, and other artists have entered a select club established by the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA).

The #RIAAClassOf 2022 list was unveiled by the RIAA on Thursday, January 5. The list honors 39 debut musicians who received their first gold or platinum certification on a song that was released within the previous two years, in 2022.

GloRilla was added to the list after receiving a gold award for her duet with Cardi B, “Tomorrow 2.” Additionally included was Armani White, whose song “Billie Eilish” won a gold medal.

R&B singer-songwriter Muni Long joined the list of platinum-selling artists as a result of her song “Hrs & Hrs” selling more than one million copies. SleazyWorld also won a slot for his song “Sleazy Flow,” which sold over a million copies.

Each of the aforementioned songs experienced a modest amount of chart success. White’s “Billie Eliish” reached No. 58 on the Billboard Hot 100 list, Big Glo’s “Tomorrow 2” peaked at No. 9, and Sleazy’s “Sleazy Flow” debuted at No. 47.

“Hrs & Hrs” by Muni Long rose from No. 83 to No. 34 on the Hot 100 and from No. 7 to No. 1 on the Emerging Artists chart. The song debuted in the Top 10 of the Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs chart as well as the Top 5 of R&B Songs.
