For the first trailer for the upcoming Fast & Furious movie, Biggie’s classic posthumous duet with Bone Thugs-n-Harmony, “Notorious Thugs,” has been reinterpreted.
Fast X’s nearly four-minute long teaser, which debuted on Friday (February 10), has a slightly altered rendition of the 1997 song that some fans might not immediately recognize. First up is the well-known piano rift, however it is at a lower octave.
Before Bone Thugs-n-Harmony begin singing the song’s hook, the melody is quickly changed by a slowed-down string version to match the dramatic tone of the 10th Fast & Furious movie. The first three lines of Biggie’s first verse on the song are rapped after the song’s 2:25 minute mark introduction of his voice.
Fast X is the second-to-last entry in the action-racing series, which was originally made available to viewers in 2001.
The son of drug lord Hernan Reyes, who was killed during a heist carried out by Dom and his team in Fast Five, is a character played by Vin Diesel in the newest movie. Jason Momoa’s character, Dante, teams up with Charlize Theron’s character, Cipher, a cyberterrorist who has appeared in the previous two movies, in an effort to get revenge on his father’s death.
