Reginae Carter, Lil Wayne’s daughter, has always been a fervent fan of her well-known father, but there’s one line in particular that really gets to her.
The oldest Carter child was approached by an Interviewer on the red carpet at the 2022 Soul Train Awards and requested to sing her favorite Weezy bars.
It’s obvious why Nae has such a soft spot for David Banner’s production of Wayne’s 2008 Tha Carter III track “La La” after she delivered part of its lyrics while showcasing her rapping abilities.
“My daughter be the twinkle of my eye/ You hurt her, you kill me, I ain’t ’bout to die,” Nae rapped. “See y’all are at ground, and my daughter is my sky/ I swear, I look in her face and I just want to break out and fly/ Four tears in my face, and you ain’t never heard me cry/ I’m richer than all y’all, I got a bank full of pride!”
Weezy has undoubtedly been receiving flowers lately from both his relatives and friends. Missy Elliott startled the New Orleans superstar earlier this month when he showed up to the unveiling of her wax figure at Madame Tussauds in Las Vegas. Missy Elliott gave him love in return and credited him with “birthing a new generation” of rappers after him.
“@LilTunechi You have Birthed a whole generation after you & It’s easy for people to acknowledge Some1’s GREATNESS when their no longer around but I want you to know YOU ARE LEGENDARY,” she wrote on Twitter. “No matter who thinks differently YOUR BLUEPRINT is PRESENT! No debate.”
She said: “Sometimes it’s hard to run into a real one in this business but when you do DON’T LET THEM GO A huge hug will let them know you appreciate them & their contributions to the CULTURE! Thank You @LilTunechi.”
Wayne received a lot of love for his 40th birthday in September, including messages from Kanye West, Drake, Nicki Minaj, Chris Brown, 2 Chainz, Cam’Ron, Snoop Dogg, NBA YoungBoy, DJ Khaled, Janet Jackson, and others.
Lil Wayne also acquired 22 fresh platinum certifications from the Recording Industry Association of America on the same day as his birthday, serving as both an additional gift and a reminder that he isn’t close to slowing down (RIAA). Some of the biggest singles from his career are included on the album, including “6 Foot 7 Foot” and the 7x platinum-certified “Love Me” with Drake and Future.
