By returning to his Hip Hop roots, Redman keeps building his Hollywood résumé. The seasoned MC from Newark, New Jersey, provided the voice for the animated series My Dad the Bounty Hunter’s theme song, which will air on Netflix soon.
Laz Alonso voices the show’s titular dad, Sabo Brok, while Yvonne Orji portrays Tess, the mother. Priah Ferguson and Jecobi Swan provide the voices for their two children, Lisa and Sean.
The close-knit brothers stow away on their father’s most recent business trip in the action-comedy in the hopes of spending some quality time together. But they learn that their father has been hiding the fact that he is the most formidable bounty hunter in the galaxy.
“I love being a part of a project that has purpose,” Redman says in an exclusive behind the scenes clip. Tess and Sabo are separated and their kids are coping with this new reality, an aspect of the show Redman could relate to.
As a father himself, Redman related to the narrative and believes that even seasoned parents may benefit from the series’ themes.
