Boston-based visual artist Rafael Arturo will debut his latest photography series Women in Suits on June 14 at SOULCIALTA’s dreamSPACE studio in East Boston. The one-night-only gallery event will run from 6 to 9 p.m. at 108 Maverick Street and is part of the studio’s ongoing “Artist Kickback” series.
Known on Instagram as @skin__and___bone, Arturo has spent the last decade embedded in Boston’s creative ecosystem. His upcoming installation invites attendees to step into a curated visual space designed to challenge traditional narratives through intimate portraiture. As suggested by the event’s teaser, Arturo’s goal is to “bend space and time” — a concept he uses to describe the immersive energy he intends to bring to the room.
Women in Suits appears to focus on style, power, and presentation through a gendered lens. The gallery is both a showcase and a social platform, aligning with SOULCIALTA’s mission to connect artists and community through intentional gatherings.
In addition to the gallery, a limited VIP networking hour is available, providing attendees with early access, conversation with the artist, and a more intimate introduction to Boston’s creative scene. Tickets are limited and private invites are being circulated throughout the week, according to the studio.
The “Artist Kickback” series is part of SOULCIALTA’s broader effort to spotlight independent artists and encourage local collaboration. Past events have included multidisciplinary showcases, panel discussions, and experimental installations.
