Playboi Carti may not make fans wait as long for his next release as he did for MUSIC. According to two close sources DJ Swamp Izzo and Carti’s partner Gio Ramos, the upcoming album BABY BOI is already complete.
DJ Swamp Izzo told Complex that the album is “ready” and “done,” with Carti having recorded over 50 songs. While he couldn’t confirm if the rapper is satisfied with the final version, he said, “They’re done.”
Gio Ramos echoed the same sentiment in a social media clip, saying, “Yeah, BABY BOI is done. It’s completed… he just keeps trying to make sure it drops at the right time.”
Carti also hinted at the album on Instagram while posting footage from his stadium performance at Soldier Field in Chicago on May 31. The clip showed Travis Scott joining him onstage for “goosebumps,” “CRUSH,” and “FE!N.” In the caption, Carti wrote, “SWAMP IZZO TRAVIS SCOTT TRIM DEM STADIUMS AINT NO JOKE KID YOU GOT 2 COME WITH IT BBYBOY,” subtly teasing the new album title.
Carti is currently opening for The Weeknd’s “After Hours Til Dawn” tour. A release date for BABY BOI has not been announced.
