Playboi Carti’s fashion-focused label Opium has partnered with Pelle Pelle to release a collaborative line of leather jackets. The collaboration comes after Carti was seen wearing vintage Pelle Pelle pieces earlier in 2024, during a period when he was teasing music from his latest album Music and sharing unreleased songs online. What started as a conversation about custom items for Carti developed into a full clothing release.
The partnership brought together Carti’s creative director Rose Marie Johansen, known online as @sexisdeath, and Pelle Pelle’s Head of Design, Chris Caruana. Together, they worked on a collection that includes jackets with detailed designs, embroidery, and studded accents. Among the styles are padded hooded jackets, leather pieces with globe motifs, and others with Pelle Pelle and Opium logos.
The jackets are priced between $1,200 and $2,000 and are currently available through Complex Shop. According to both teams, this is the first of several upcoming collaborative projects between Opium and Pelle Pelle.
