Playboi Carti Releases Deluxe Version Of Music With Four New Tracks And Responds To First-Week Sales Count.

Playboi Carti has released a deluxe edition of his latest album Music, now subtitled Sorry 4 Da Wait. The updated version includes four additional tracks: “Different Day,” “2024,” “Backr00ms,” and “FOMDJ.” All of these songs had been previewed or circulated prior to the album’s initial release earlier this month. The title of the deluxe version is a reference to Lil Wayne, one of Carti’s influences, and seems to acknowledge the delay in releasing the project.

The original version of Music debuted at number one on the Billboard 200 with 298,000 equivalent album units in its first week, according to Billboard. The bulk of that figure came from 384 million on-demand streams, which accounted for 283,000 units. The remaining 15,000 units came from album sales and track-equivalent sales.

This marks Carti’s biggest debut to date and his second album to reach number one, following 2020’s Whole Lotta Red. Music also had the largest streaming week for a rap album in 2025 and the biggest overall streaming debut since Taylor Swift’s The Tortured Poets Department in May.
