Playboi Carti has sparked anticipation for his upcoming album I Am Music, suggesting it may still arrive within its originally announced March 2025 timeframe.
Over the weekend, Carti used social media to hint at an impending release. Posting through his label Opium’s Instagram, he tagged Spotify and urged the platform to clear his music for release. In response to Spotify’s reply with hourglass emojis, Carti reiterated his readiness by writing, “YAL BOYS PUSH UP MY N-GHA” on his Instagram Stories. When a fan asked him to drop the album, he simply replied, “FASHO.”
Further fueling expectations, Carti reassured listeners that the album’s replay value would be high, writing, “N THE REPLAY [VALUE] ON 10.” The album has been available for pre-save since September 2024, with an official notice stating it would release no later than six months from September 12—making March 12, 2025, the deadline. With that date approaching, the album’s arrival could be imminent.

Carti and his team have also placed billboards in Los Angeles and Miami that read “Music Is Coming,” alongside a Spotify logo, further signaling the project’s near release.
The album was initially rumored to drop before the end of 2024, particularly after Carti premiered new songs at Rolling Loud Miami in December. The continued delay frustrated some fans, leading to an online petition calling for Carti to be banned from streaming platforms.
Despite the wait, Carti credited Twitch star Kai Cenat with motivating him to finally release the project. In February, Carti shared a video of Cenat urging him to drop the album during an interview at the 2025 Grammy Awards. Responding to Cenat’s plea, Carti wrote, “REALEST VIDEO I SEEN IN 2025… BX YAL GOT 1 WITH KAI. DIS VIDEO MIGHT BE DA ONE TO DO IT.”
