Playboi Carti Expands ‘Music’  With A Surprise Deluxe Edition Featuring Four New Tracks.

Playboi Carti has released the deluxe edition of his third studio album, Music, as an unannounced drop through AWGE and Interscope Records. The updated version, titled Music – Sorry 4 Da Wait, adds four additional songs to the project: “Different Day,” “2024,” “Backr00ms” featuring Travis Scott, and “FOMDJ.”

The deluxe release includes tracks that Carti had previously shared in different ways over the past year. “2024” and “Backr00ms” were initially made available on his YouTube channel in December 2023 and January 2024, respectively. “Different Day” was posted on his Instagram account, @opium_00pium, in December 2023. “FOMDJ” debuted during Carti’s headlining performance at Lyrical Lemonade’s Summer Smash festival in June 2023 and was performed again at ComplexCon in November. To accompany the deluxe edition, Carti also released an official visualizer for “FOMDJ” on YouTube.

The original version of Music was released on March 14 and debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 chart for the week of March 29. The album earned 298,000 equivalent album units in its first week, making it the biggest opening for a rap album in 2025. It also recorded the largest streaming week for any album in nearly a year, following Taylor Swift’s The Tortured Poets Department.

Alongside its commercial success, Music set a significant record on the Billboard Hot 100. Playboi Carti became the first rapper—and only the third artist overall—to have more than 30 songs chart on the Hot 100 in a single week. All 30 tracks from Music entered the chart, with “Evil J0rdan” reaching No. 2 and “Rather Lie” featuring The Weeknd debuting at No. 4. Carti’s collaboration with The Weeknd, “Timeless,” which originally appeared on the singer’s Hurry Up Tomorrow album, dropped to No. 23 after previously ranking in the top three.

The release of Music – Sorry 4 Da Wait adds new material for fans while extending the impact of Carti’s latest project. The album remains a major commercial success, and with the addition of new tracks, its presence on streaming platforms is expected to continue.
