OMB Peezy is keeping the momentum going with the upcoming release of his new project, Drifting Away, dropping on January 17th. “It’s a fresh start for me,” he said, speaking about the project. Alongside the new release, Peezy’s TikTok success with “Lay Down” continues to echo through the digital world. “The song went viral seven years after it was first released, and it’s just crazy to see how music can live on in such unexpected ways,” he shared.
As he continues to evolve musically, Peezy is introducing more alternative R&B elements into his sound. “I’m still keeping my roots, but I want to experiment and show a different side of myself,” he explained, referencing influences like Alicia Keys and Adele.
Growing up surrounded by church music, Peezy’s musical foundation is deeply rooted in spirituality. “Church music had a big impact on me growing up,” he said, adding that the healing nature of music has always been a constant in his life.
