An NSFW video of Janelle Monáe showing her breasts during a recent concert has caused her to go viral.
The Grammy-nominated singer made headlines earlier this month for wearing a skimpy outfit at the Met Gala, and she later gained notoriety for baring her breasts at an event to promote the release of her new track, “Lipstick Lover.”
Monáe can be seen at one point raising her shirt to reveal her boobs while performing her brand-new song. When the performance went viral on social media, Monáe tweeted, “Titties out for the next 15 years. [smiling with tongue out emoji].”
When Janelle Monáe released the thirst trap-filled music video for “Lipstick Lover” on Thursday (May 11), it immediately went viral for identical reasons. Soon after, she revealed that The Age of Pleasure, her upcoming album, would be released on June 9.
The album will be Monáe’s first full-length offering since Dirty Computer in 2018, which received an Album of the Year nomination at the 61st Annual Grammy Awards.
Monáe has frequently praised female beauty and the feminine shape. She denounced the misogyny in Hip Hop on Twitter in 2020 and declared that she was only interested in seeing women rule the genre.
“I genuinely only want to listen to ladies rap. It irritates me how frequently most men in rap and music display misogyny. We must eliminate such crap as well, she wrote at the time. “Y’all can’t wait to call women every bitch, hoe, discuss violent acts against women, etc. for clout in rap, rock, and throughout music history,” she said.
“Misogyny has never been acceptable, yet it is now accepted as the standard. Misogyny was created by you, not by women. Therefore, you take action to abolish it.
In a subsequent tweet, she continued, “The only gas lighting I accept is the gas we lighting to burn down the misogyny.”
