On June 28, the college-focused program’s concluding season will debut.
There are other musicians who have recently appeared on Grown-ish besides Latto and NLE Choppa. On the adored program in 2021, Saweetie made her acting debut.
In a brief guest appearance, Saweetie played the bossy rapper Indigo who asked Yara Shahidi’s character (Zoey Johnson), who left college to work as Joey Bada$$’ stylist, fix the outfit choice for her.
At the time, Saweetie told Entertainment Weekly, “I believe Indigo is just a little bitch. She always means well, but occasionally she says the wrong thing.
I wanted to make sure I delivered, she continued. I believe that when playing a role, whether it be in a television episode or a music video, you must always fully commit to the emotion you’re attempting to convey. I felt playing an artist while also being one myself was cool, if a little dishonest. However, the girl’s attitude and demeanor are completely different from mine, so I had to get to know her. She’s diva-like and bossy.
“I might imagine myself having a program, acting in more cameo roles, or even starring in a film. It’s art, in my opinion. Stepping outside of my comfort zone is enjoyable, and it enables me to simply pursue my creative interests.
