Nicki Minaj surprised fans on Monday (Oct. 20) by deactivating her Instagram account, leaving the Barbz with questions about her next moves.
Despite the IG absence, Minaj remained active on X (formerly Twitter) on Tuesday (Oct. 21), posting an AI-generated image of Jay-Z, taking a shot at Charlamagne Tha God, and claiming Gucci Mane’s wife, Keyshia Ka’Oir, has been “trying to be me for years.” The day also marked her sixth wedding anniversary with Kenneth Petty, which she celebrated with photos and fan interactions.
The deactivation may be linked to lyrics from her 2018 track “Barbie Tingz”: “Had to come off IG so they can’t stalk me,” fans noted. Earlier this week, Minaj crowned herself “Billionaire Barbie” on X and teased a return to music, confirming her previously postponed album is now slated for March 27, 2026, with another project planned for the fourth quarter of 2026.
Minaj wrote in a now-deleted post: “I could put out an album tomorrow and still revolutionize the industry yet again on 3.27.26. And then turn around and still release another blockbuster 4th quarter of 26.” Fans can still look forward to new music from the rapper despite her social media hiatus.
